Nicklas Lidstrom is ahead of the game: An exploration of what make Lidstrom, Lidstrom.
Lots of people are writting Detroit off but I think people should see them as a real threat. They know this is the last run with this group. If they play like they were mid season, they can be scary.

ESPN lists them as #1 in their power rankings. Doesn't seem like a write-off to me.

ESPN actually recognized the NHL? This can't be so!
I don't think Red Wings will get by Nashville, but it won't be for any deficiency in Lidstrom's game nor any lack of effort or skill. It will come down to goal tending, and I just don't think Jimmy Howard will have quite enough.

It's only on the website, and only because they have a contract with Buccigross. He has proven himself completely inept behind the SportsCenter desk, so they have to keep him busy out of the public eye writing his blog.
Looking over the expert picks on NHL.com it looks like the Predators are considered the overwhelming favorites to come out of the first round. Personally, I can't bet against Lidstrom and the rest of his playoff-seasoned mates.

Thank you! I cannot stand that guy. I used to like him when he was the semi-nerdy guy pimping hockey, but now he's the thinks he's funny guy who imagines himself a meme generator. He's like 4chan minus all the humor.
And he treats soccer the same way he used to bitch about people treating hockey.

I still think he's largely under appreciated - even though the good hockey people always mention him when they speak of the best in the game - a lot of fans still don't, but if there is one reason for the consistency of the Red Wings over the last twenty years, it would be him. He's just so, so good.
