Lin's final line: 1 for 11 from the field, eight points, three assistsa long way from the 23.9 points and 9.2 assists he had been averaging over his first 11 games in the Knicks' rotation.

My over under was 18......Is this the beginning???

The Heat had LeBron on him, right?

No. What are you predicting here -- that he'll wake up one morning and no longer be any good?

We were talking last week about an over under before he hits the wall.

I know that, but I'm asking you to quantify what you're expecting to happen to Lin's performance after 18 games.

ok, I am going to go with after that point(game 18) he will be averaging 12 & 5 or less.

Let's wait and see how they do against teams that aren't the Heat. Beyond everything else he does so well, the thing I hate most about LeBron James is his ability to erase easy fast breaks. You get a 2-on-1, draw the defender, pass it off for an easy layup and . . . LeBron pins it to the backboard and the Heat take it the other way. It pains me to say it, but the Heat look like a hell of a team.

On this day in SpoFi history . . . ten years ago, SpoFites were discussing Canada's win over the U.S. for the men's hockey Gold ("A nation of repressed personalities exploding on the ice"). Bonus -- Theo Fleury sighting! Elsewhere on that day, one of the first recorded instances of everyone's favorite parlor game: "Sport or not a Sport?"

Jeff Carter and his monster contract are now the LA Kings problem. He has been traded from the Blue Jackets for defenseman Jack Johnson and a 1st round draft pick.

From another article: "So in the end, Howson dealt Jakub Voracek, Sean Couturier and prospect Nick Cousins for Jack Johnson and a late-first round pick. Huh."

Huh. I'm nowhere to be found in that discussion.

I must have been recovering from the celebration.

I still have the commemorative S.I. issue (with Lemieux and flag on the cover) on my desk. I didn't think I'd ever experience bigger "Oh Canada!" moment in my life than that one.

Yet, 8 years later I was proven wrong...

That's right, on June 28th, QEII rolled into Canada. Forgot about that.

Ahh, 2002...the Wings won 4 Olympic medals, and a silver cup of some kind...

We were discussing great performance of the National Anthem a week or so ago, but I just stumbled across this great student anthem sang at the 2012 Hawaii State Canoe Racing Championship.

Star Spangled Banner harmony

And this is them singing the Hawai`i State song:

Hawaiʻi Pono I

Man getting hit in the groin by a football.

But it ends up with him being the lucky one. Matthew Wade. Cricket sensation.
