Jessie Armstead joins Redskins.: Now you have Armstead and Arrington, not a bad combo I think... Reidel Anthony signed as well.
CNNSI is reporting that the Ravens have cut Grbac...

Hey, I like the Armstead addition. I'm a loyal Skin fan in Giant territory and I don't think I've ever seen a bad word written about him in the NY press. He plays hard, knows the game and his leadership qualities can only help.

Ay caramba! You made my heart jump for a second. That would have been the ultimate betrayal... :)

The Redskins seem to like old defensive players. I'm beginning to think of their clubhouse as a transitional center for players on the verge of retirement. They should call themselves the Washington Wrinkledskins.

I hear the Skins are gonna move to Florida, so the more elderly players don't have joint problems. Actually the defensive core is pretty young: Champ Bailey, Fred Smoot, LaVar Arrington are all very good and improving. Darrell Green is ancient, but I'll still put him up against the league's best. Bruce Smith wears down and can no longer play every down, but when he's on he's on. BTW, there was a good statement on yesterday's PTI: If Brian Billick is supposed to be such a genius - explain him bringing in Tony Banks, Stony Case, Elvis Grbac and tanking with all of them but cutting Trent Dilfer - the one guy he won with?

Kudos to CNNSI for using this picture as the headline for Elvis being cut

Is Elvis dead?

Welcome to RedskinsFilter! (Just kidding, owillis). Armstead is a stratigic pick, in light of the favored Eagles in the NFC east. Their mobility on the offense was the bane of all other NFC East rivals, and Armstead goes a long way to countering that. But, doesn't it seem a little bit like the 'Skins are aquiring to beat a few teams as opposed to beating the league? Maybe that's wise on their part?

armstead will help the redskins, no doubt. they have to find a way to shore up the run defense. i'm also glad to see darren woodson re-sign with the cowboys. not only a good (sometimes great) player, but by all accounts a solid citizen, and team leader. the ravens are definitely paying for their superbowl success now. what do you think, baltimore fans? the bills cut rob johnson. what will the football gods, and more importantly, tuesday morning quarterback think of that? ye gods.
