Cameras caught Chargers kicker Nick Novak peeing on the sideline during the Broncos game. There needs to be a real men of genius commercial for the towel man.

HA! I had a feeling that a bathroom break was going on there.

Afterward, Novak's sense of urgency was roughly equivalent to that of Norv Turner.

That moment took place way too close to the Gatorade depot, IMO.

Note to assistant: if you hold the towel on the left side, he's gonna be wide right when he gets on the field.

Note to Novak: next time the other team tries to ice you with a timeout just before a FG attempt and the hydration team comes running onto the field, you do not need to take a squirt.

#momustgoagain....aaaaand it finally happened. This comes on the heels of Washington firing Bruce Boudreau.

Apparently Kirk Muller will be the new Hurricanes coach.
Dale Hunter is the new coach in Warshington.

Dale Hunter is the new coach in Warshington.

That sucks for people in my city (London, ON), as he was the current head coach for the London Knights (who are currently ranked #1 among junior teams in Canada).

That's a good hire by the Hurricanes. I was hoping the Blue Jackets would drop their terrible coach Scott Arniel and hire Muller. The Canes needed a change, so did the Caps. Maybe Hunter will be able to get Ovechkin out of his slump.

It seems that leading UCLA to a *cough* Pac 12 South title *cough* isn't enough to earn Rick Neuheisel a 5th season as head coach of the Bruins.

Good news for Muller, but I'm disappointed, because he was coaching the local triple A team.

Players piss all the time on the sidelines. I was sitting in the first row behind the Tampa bench vs. the Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium when a lineman kneeled down behind an open equipment trunk and urinated, while Bills fans yelled everything they could possibly think of at him. The fact he could piss under that much pressure either says something about his ability to focus, or maybe just that he really had to go.

On another subject, Andy Reid needs to go. Why did the Eagles come out and throw so much yesterday? Did he think Young was Dan Fouts in his prime? Did he forget he has the NFLs top rusher in his backfield? He was just off target enough to allow the Patriots to make the game a laugher. Horrible game plan.

And Steve Johnson's act would have tolerated more if he hadn't dropped a perfect pass, right in his hands, late in the game that would have meant six points. Just one more embarrassment for the Bills in their recent streak of poor performances.

Neuheisel's firing is the first step in the Pitinoization of Pete Carroll.

In case there was any doubt, Urban Meyer is the new HC at OSU. Panic and joy erupts.

Re: Players pissing on the sideline. I recall reading about a Jaguars player when they beat the Broncos in 1997 who said he had received IV treatments for the flu, and had to frequently pee on the sideline. The other players just huddled around him and shielded him while he did his business.

I've known soccer players who did it on the pitch (easier to do, just take a knee and then aim out the bottom of your shorts).

Pat Forde, a college football writer for Yahoo, calls him "Urban Myth." He's thinking that Urban won't do squat at Ohio State.
