PLAYOFFS? Don't talk to me about playoffs... (You knew deep in your heart that somebody had to say it. Right?) Now it is time to get semi-serious about making some picks.
Just as I was about to start typing, my geriatric striped cat came to me begging for attention. I picked her up, and she purred to me her choice for the Hamilton at Montreal game. Of course, she is for the Tiger Cats. She left after a few minutes on my shoulder, so I didn't have to give her the bad news. The little larks will turn into large, terrifying raptors and devour the kitties.
I don't own any horses, nor am I acquainted with any Eskimos, although one of my neighbors owns a Husky dog, so there was nobody whispering advice in my ear. I'm on my own here, but while both teams have been inconsistent, I believe the Eskimos will retain the "home igloo" advantage.
To sum it up neatly, so that Dr. J won't have to do as much work:
Montreal by 12
Edmonton by 9
Special teams scoring to Edmonton
Total scoring pick OVER
Wait a minute. When you say over, it means someone else has to talk. OK, I'm done. OUT.

And yes, living in Saskatchewan or Toronto is indeed misfortune.

It's OK, CGY-EDM just needs to score fewer than 10 points.

Oh hey, I was away so didn't see this chance to redeem my stunning one point loss in the regular season series. Thanks, DrJohnEvans for doing these - fun diversions in a sometimes difficult life!

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8-10) @ Montreal Alouettes (10-8) (Sunday, November 13)
So this is intriiiguing. We've seen this playoff match-up before, with Montreal predictably destroying the Tiger-Cats every time. But this year is different. Montreal has shown some serious vulnerabilities this season, as evidenced by the fact that they failed to capture the division title for only the third time in the past twelve years. Hamilton has shown some upstart strength, and of course has to be taken seriously. However! They've lacked consistency, and have not been able to get over the hump when visiting la belle province.

Calgary Stampeders (11-7) @ Edmonton Eskimos (11-7) (Sunday, November 13)
The Battle of Alberta continues into the playoffs, and these two teams are matched up more evenly than ever before. Edmonton started the year strong, but stumbled into the stretch, and only a defensive stand last week preserved their home playoff game. Calgary comes in having won three in a row, most recently taking down the best team in the east. In the end, this contest may very well come down to home field advantage.

Las Vegas Posse Memorial Bonus
The combined over/under on total points scored for both games is 106.5. Will the actual number of points scored this weekend be OVER or UNDER that total?
Example pick: Hamilton by 21, Calgary by 14, Montreal, Over.
Good luck!
