Squirrel Crosses Plate During Cards/Phillies: A squirrel ran across home plate while Roy Oswalt was pitching during the Phillies/Cardinals game Wednesday night. The pitch was called a ball and Oswalt's protest that it shouldn't have counted was denied. "I got distracted. I didn't really know that would be a pitch," Oswalt said. "If it ran up the guy's leg, would he have called the pitch for a strike? It's hard to say."
The squirrel was unavailable for comment.
