Canucks Beat Blackhawks, Survive Series: A wicked wrister by left wing Alex Burrows five minutes into overtime led the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-1 overtime victory over the Chicago Blackhawks, a game 7 win in their first-round playoff series that avoided an epic collapse. The Canucks had lost 3 straight to the Blackhawks, evening the series at 3, before the win. "Obviously we didn't make it easy on ourselves," Burrows said.

The Canucks tried very hard to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but ultimately failed in that task. The Blackhawks might have come in as number 8 seeds, but they didn't play like it, and brought the previous two years of experience to the contest.

Best round 1 in a long while. Hope it keeps going. And that the Habs win tomorrow.

WOW what a game. That shorty by Toews was unreal. I was sure that was gonna suck the life out of the Canucks as they thought, " Here we go again."

Two more game 7's tonight. I am set for a night of great hockey. If you think you dont like hockey, sit down and watch tonight.

I hate/love game 7's

Can't recall the last time I've seen a goaltending performance like Crawford had last night. Toews goal was highlight material.

Kesler, Burrows, and Bieksa again carried the Canucks. The Sedin line, although better last night, has to contribute much more for Vancouver. Luongo got good defensive support and was only victimized on the 1 rebound. His style scares the hell out of me - plays the whole game on his knees and often ends up being out of position as a result.

Agree. he was on his head for sure. That game could have been 10-0.

I too agree, but Luongo wasn't exactly chopped liver.

Neither was Roloson last night. He carried Tampa to round 2.
