Utah Plans Antitrust Lawsuit Against BCS: Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff (R) has announced that he's filing suit against the Bowl Championship Series, claiming it's "an illegal monopoly" that violates antitrust regulations -- and expects to be joined by the attorneys general in at least two other states. "This isn't about bragging rights, it isn't some kind of frivolous deal, there are serious antitrust violations that are harming taxpayer-funded institutions to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars," he said.
So it took him about 26 months? I thought this sounded familiar.

If there is one team over the past decade that might have a true gripe, it is probably Utah. We can argue whether or not they could've won a BCS title, but if a body of work spanning over decade isn't enough to get an opportunity, then something is wrong in my opinion.

I sure hope it works. I hate the BCS . I'm happy to help the Utah AG prove consumer harm. I've been harmed by being deprived of really good championship games because the teams came from non-BCS conferences.
