Great set of photos showcasing the culture of cricket in South Asia: : young and old, amateur and professional, prisoners and priests.
It's nice to know that face-painters exist around the world. Though, I don't think we have any face-painters in prison here in the US of A.

beaverboard's link is busted (at least for me or perhaps the site just does not allow direct linking), but here are two facepainters in or on their way to jail/prison:

My introduction to cricket passion came during our vacation in Barbados last summer. Wife and I were souvenir shopping in Bridgetown's largest department store, and while she checked out the "goodies", I checked out the sporting goods. There were some soccer items, a few outdoor things, some runners' gear, and stand after stand of cricket goods, balls, bats, pads, jerseys all over the place. My mom (a native Bajan) had told me stories about how cricket was the big thing there, but I never understood how big. The passion in South Asia is understandable. I guess Barbados is lucky; there is room for a lot of pitches, and they are in use most all day.

Great stuff.
Picture 10 - can't possibly be Colombo, as there's no traffic jam. :-)
Picture 43 - Galle Face Green. Stayed just opposite there during the 2007 World Cup Final between Sri Lanka and Australia, when they had a similar screen set up. Then this happened.
