Auburn Spent $2.9 Million on BCS Trip: Despite being given an expense allowance of nearly $2.3 million from the SEC for the BCS Championship game, the University of Auburn ran a deficit of $600,000 at the event. That total includes $600,000 for the 473-member traveling party of team and staff to go on the trip for nine days and $360,000 for 435 band members and cheerleaders to attend for four days. The school also bought tickets for 2,456 tickets to attend at a cost of $780,000.
... and I am sure it was worth every penny of it.
... to the 900 or so that got to go.

If they didn't buy tickets for tickets to attend they would have been alright;)

LOL, tickets for tickets...no wonder the NCAA is making so much money off of football.
Actually, I think they must have been fairly frugal. $360,000 for 435 people for 4 days, that's just over $200 a day. flight, hotels, meals...that's pretty reasonable. Had to take their band and cheerleaders, wouldn't you think?
Those damn tickets.

The deficit is nothing but the equivalent of breakfast money to Mr. Lowder, I would assume.
473 plus 435 is an awful lot of people to transport, house, and feed.
