Saints Cut Jeremy Shockey: The New Orleans Saints have cut tight end Jeremy Shockey, a member of their 2010 Super Bowl winning team. Shockey, who turns 31 in August, caught 41 passes for 408 yards last season, the lowest numbers of his nine-year NFL career.
I saw an SI link yesterday that said Reggie Bush could be next.

When Shockey is healthy, he contributes fairly well, especially in a system with a QB like Brees throwing the ball. But he breaks down too much to be relied upon.

He's a Rex Ryan type of personality .. but Jets have to fix the originating point of the aerial offense before looking at a tight end.

The Jets have a pretty good tight end in Dustin Keller.

Really?
Sanchez has already tied the NFL record for playoff wins on the road. He outplayed both Manning and Brady in the playoffs this year. As well as having at least four fourth quarter comebacks this year alone.
I think the Jets are set at QB for the next decade or so.

I've never been a big Shockey fan. I always thought he was a loudmouth braggart who always seemed to be capping on the team I root for. I admit my bias completely. He was also a brilliant TE at times. Having said all this I expect to see him on my team's roster next year (if there is a season next year, that is).
