John Elway Hired as Denver Broncos Exec: The Denver Broncos have hired John Elway as vice president of football operations and sent him to woo head coach Jim Harbaugh away from Stanford. "This is not an image-enhancing tactic," writes Mike Klis of the Denver Post. "Elway will be in charge."

Elway in general has indeed shown some business savvy in the past as the article suggests, but he isn't perfect. He recently plowed around $15 mil into a Ponzi operation.

If you get snowed like that in today's post-Madoff investment climate, your savvy comes marked with an asterisk.

Maybe Elway is not the best guy to assist Bowlen, who is susceptible to getting snowed himself (McDaniels).

Both those guys could use a savvy transfusion from Robert Kraft.
