Nobody Wants to Visit Boise: As it tries to become a national championship contender, Boise State has a maddeningly difficult time scheduling home-and-home series with teams from the BCS conferences. "I can find plenty of guarantee games," Athletic Director Gene Bleymaier said. But most deals are like the one bringing the Broncos to Maryland to play the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Who wants to go to the middle of nowhere and play in a 30,000 seat stadium?
Not many good teams. Especially after they consider this.

Or especially after they consider this. And, yes, I just went all Cremaster on your ass.

Heh. You wish.
Was that crap supposed to replicate what Big Ten teams would play like on that field?

I read an analysis somewhere (I can't remember where, as I am also having difficulty remembering what I had for breakfast) that the blue turf, coupled with matching blue uniforms, make it difficult for visiting teams to see the positioning and movement of the Boise State players. Now another team (Eastern Washington?) is installing red turf to match its home colors. It would appear that there is some gamesmanship being practiced here. Tonight's contest against Virginia Tech makes for some interesting viewing.

Nearly jinxed them, YYM.
Cracker of a game: VT should be proud of the way they played, but Boise State seem to know how to win those tight ones late.
