Three Men Hold NBA Wife At Gunpoint, Rob Home: Three masked men broke into Stephen Jackson's Charlotte-area home early Wednesday morning, holding Jackson's wife Renata at gunpoint while they robbed the residence.

It doesn't sound random. Athletes are targets. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Jackson, who was out of town at a basketball camp during the robbery, is not an NBA star I'd mess with if I turned to a life of crime. He has a tattoo across his chest of two praying hands holding a gun.

Rcade - I am not making accusations but when a guy is tatted up like a gang banger, there is a good chance that not only was this not random but my guess is that he may be closer to the perps then we know. Usually those with criminal associations or friends in the criminal world are even bigger targets than those who stay clear of this stuff. His tattoos are an indication he is either into the thug look or possibly is associated with the thug life. That stuff always comes back to bite you sooner or later.

I am glad his wife is OK. Maybe he should remove some of those tattoos that seem to glorify the life and change his associations. I'm just saying.

From rcade's link:

Yes, this is the same Stephen Jackson who will miss the Warriors' first seven games under NBA suspension for pleading guilty to a felony charge of criminal recklessness after firing an awfully similar gun into the air at an Indianapolis strip club.

I believe that BornIcon's original link reported that a stun gun and a 9mm handgun were among the items taken from the house. If so, I believe that would make Mr. Jackson a felon in possesion of a firearm. Which would make him eligible for some federal prison time. And that would be a good place for him to show off that despicable tattoo, because it has no other place in society.

The robbery was not random, anyone can figure that out.

Carolina is truly a snake-bitten place for pro athletes. Bad stuff just seems to happen there. Carruth, Collins, Lane, Henry...

I'm just happy his wife didn't have to pay the price for his stupidity.

As far as I know, there is zero evidence to indicate that he actually did anything to warrant this (not that I could imagine what that would be). So, it is nice that some of the folks on SpoFi are enlightened enough to blame him for armed robbers breaking into his house when he isn't home. His wife clearly deserves this because she married a man that has tattoos, I guess.

And, mjk, I think Jackson would actually have had to be home to be in possession (or even constructive possession) of the gun. Maybe his wife likes to keep a gun around when she is home alone.

Stephen Jackson's Wife: Lengthy Arrest Record

I'm pretty sure that you cannot have any firearems in your house, regardless of who they might technically belong to. As for the tattoo, well it's a symbol of many things gone wrong, unless you happen to think thugs carrying guns around is a good or normal thing. Every aspect of that tattoo is offensive to me. The tattoo is not the cause of Mr. Jackon's current misfortune, but it sure points to some really fucked up values.

I'm surprised and disappointed, BornIcon. What on earth does an arrest record prove? You have no idea based on that link whether she was actually guilty of any of those charges. But, who needs that information? Run ins with the cop are always an indication of some wrongdoing, right? I guess she deserved it then.

Also, mjk, he wasn't home, so you don't know that the weapon is there when he is there.

Not necessarily. He says it's because he prays never to need to fire a gun again. That's not a negative message for someone from a violent past, I'd think. To me, the tattoo just shows that he's tacky.

Good for him. If you don't have one you can't fire it.
