Bo Jackson reflects on past life 21 years after his All-Star blast: "Damn kids!" Jackson says. "Nobody is supervising their kids. I would love to get my hands on them."
I agree - good article. And USA Today works hard trying to keep the reader locked onto it's sugar chain.
After you get down to the bottom of the page and are done reading about Bo Jackson's code of conduct compared to the mindless doofus doings of guys like Vince Young, there are links to other articles that may be of interest.
Leading off the top of the inning, the first three linked article subjects were: Tiger Woods, Lindsay Lohan, and Mark McGwire. Each of them for all the wrong reasons.
Sorry, no interest there. I already read enough downside shet for the time being - my daily quota's full.
But gimme more Bo (or the next best thing) when you can.

"When I was born, God gave me a natural greenie, a built-in steroid," Jackson says
For anyone that's played super tecmo bowl...truer words were never spoken.

I like the idea of Bo Jackson turning into a Walt Kowalski figure as he gets older. When Bo Jackson tells you to get off his damn lawn, kids, get off his damn lawn.

A few months back I was curious about Bo Jackson and did a quick internet search and found a great article from 1995 in Sports Illustrated where he talked about what he was doing since he left sports. I enjoyed this article as much as I enjoyed that one.
I will say though that I can understand just from the quotes at the bottom of the USA Today article why he could come off as an asshole to some people. He is fully in the right by having his requirements for when and with whom he is photographed and I applaud him for having the convictions to stand by them, despite the fact that he is aware of how he comes off by having them. I would love to have more Bo Jacksons and less Vince Youngs in the world, even if I could never get my picture with him without first paying $50.

Great article. I had been wondering what Bo was doing nowadays and how he was doing. By playing two sports I thought he might have overextended himself, having only a 4-year NFL career, and 7-year baseball career, but for the most part he did all the right things and made the most out of the time he was healthy. And with only just enough self-promotion to not become irritating: that "Bo Knows" commercial is STILL a hoot after all these years!
It'll be good to see an old friend in Anaheim tonight.
