Pat Riley Matters Again: Miami Heat president Pat Riley, whose six-decade career was sinking into obscurity, finds himself at age 65 at the center of the basketball universe. "There weren't too many people who thought he could pull this off," said former Riley assistant coach Jeff Van Gundy.

How can a 65 year-old man have a 6 decade career? And how was he obscure? He just screwed SVG out of a job a few years back to win a title.

Presumably the writer meant that Riley is entering his sixth decade in the game.

He has played or coached in some kind of championship game or series in every decade since the '60s.

Pretty impressive stat.

Amazing accomplishment. I wonder how long the egos can be held in check? I give them two championships before one of them starts shopping for a new team...
