Cubs Suspend Zambrano for Dugout Tantrum: The Chicago Cubs have suspended pitcher Carlos Zambrano indefinitely for his tantrum and dugout altercation with teammate Derrek Lee during Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox. After giving up four runs in the first inning, Zambrano reportedly yelled at Lee over a ball he felt he should have tried harder for. "He came in after he got the third out, and he started yelling and screaming," manager Lou Piniella said. "It was embarrassing."

This is also the guy who beat up a gatorade cooler last year in a fit of pique. That's $19 million a year, folks.

C'mon. The cooler had it coming the way it sat in the dugout and let Z get shelled without even trying to snag an out.

Man he's fallen far. Possibly the worst contract in baseball - and that's from a guy who's team is paying Vernon Wells $20MM starting next year.

To be honest, Big Z's contract isn't even the worst one on his team.

Alfonso Soriano is going to be getting $19million a year (with a full no-trade clause) until the end of 2014 (a year longer than Z), when he'll be 38 years old. While it looks like he's temporarily halted a 4-year trend of declining rate stats with the bat, he's become progressively one of the worst left fielders in terms of defense.

In summary, the Cubs are fucked for a while.

The Cubs suck, period. You can't blame Zambrano totally for losing it. Nobody else on that team seems to give a damn. The franchise is rather embarrassing. For a team like that, in a big market with a national TV network to suck for that many years? Amazing, and not in a good way.

Stop talking about my Maple Leafs that way! It's tough enough being a fan without people saying things like this!

What?

Oh.

Never mind.
