For a moment there in the first half, you could actually hear the Argentina fans singing over the giant bees.

it's good to see the Onion eschew their normal satire to give us Americans an informative and accurate guide...

Front page of the site (and of the locker room) is a mess in IE. Is that intentional?

Nope. Ouch. Working now?

Tony Amonte will return to the ice as the head coach at his prep Alma Mater, Thayer Academy.

Flipped over to Red Sox vs Phillies after England vs USA. Daniel Nava, called up today from AAA, just hit a grand slam for the Sox in his first major league at bat. He's quite a story in the way he finally got to the majors.

South Korea were so much better than Greece and Argentina could not take advantage of Nigeria's weak defense (excepting a great keeper) that I wonder if the Koreans can win the group.

While this should come as a shock to no one, but Tim McCarver is a moron. During the Red Sox/Phillies game on Fox he is currently suggesting that it is possible that Stephen Strasburg could make the NL All-Star team.

But will he be able to bring his old Thayer linemate back into the fold?
Stephen Strasburg could make the NL All-Star team
Not that I argue with McCarver being a putz, but doesn't it just take fan votes?

Pitchers are not fan voted onto the All-Star team.

More World Cup and beer info.
Damn you, fatty, now I'm thirsty. I finished my last bottle of Sebago Brewing Company's "Frye's Leap" IPA last night, and all that's in the refrigerator is my son's Harpoon Crystal Wheat, which I don't much care for.

I heard that too.

OMG, did the Greek defenders get totally pantsed on that second goal or what?

It has just been announced that the Greek football team is comprised entirely of economists.
And it looks like they bet on themselves to lose. Seriously, I've never seen a team look like they've given up about 20 minutes into a match. No tracking back, giving up possesion and arguing with each other.

If you're the last player, and you give the ball directly to the opposing striker 30 metres out from goal, you don't deserve to be described as a 'defender'.
