What The Halak !?!? (Part 3) Revenge of the Leighton: They took their fans from coast-to-coast on an unlikely trip through the spring, past melting snowbanks, the opening of patios and pools, the first mosquitoes and through the Victoria Day weekend. What made this Canadiens run so special was that it came seemingly from nowhere, a team needing a charity point against the last-place Toronto Maple Leafs on their last night of the regular season just to make it into the playoffs.
But the Montreal Canadiens aren’t going to make it to June.

Either the Habs just ran out of gas, and Chicago will run circles around Philly in the Finals, or the Hawks are going to have their hands very full...I'm praying for the latter...
Also, Leighton took my team from the basement up to 12th in our Spofi league almost singlehandedly, as my goalies were in constant flux. Maybe that's an omen?

If you really watched the first two round that montreal played, you saw that their coach really shortened up that bench. The first 2 lines saw way to much time and it showed in this round. Philly did 2 things the Pens and Caps would not, plant a big body in front of the net for messy goals(50 shots from the point with no rebounds was not the way to go) and try to grind down the smaller Habs. The physical style of the Flyers won this series.
With that said, I hate Philly and the Philly area with a passion and hope and think the hawks win in 5. Hossa will finally after 2 years losing with 2 different teams get his name on the cup.

Good ol' machismo/egoism. Really a shame for you. As I enjoy the Pittsburgh area thoroughly I'm sure you'd enjoy the Philly area if you were able to focus your passion more constructively.

Some places are just all too easy to dislike. For example, Ohio readily comes to mind.

It's one thing to dislike a place, quite another to hate with a passion. Have you ever visited Cleveland, Ying Yang? Tough city to dislike, in my opinion. Have had at least few very enjoyable times there.

I went to a Wings/Jackets game in Columbus the first year the Jackets existed. Couldn't get a beer after midnight (and only in the hotel bar after 10) because it was a Sunday...in a college town. Yes, Ohio sucks...

You sure that wasn't due to your condition at the time? Bars in OH are required to close at 2 AM.

Positive. The only bar open in the area of the hotel was in the hotel, and they closed at midnight. My friends and I bought a couple rounds, watched replays of Clemens throwing Piazza's bat back at him (happened to be the same night), and watched a bunch of workers roll up the streets...

Let me rephrase that: I hate Philly teams with a passion and a large percent of the people there. The city is nice

'Saber-I was just kidding about your condition. I lived in Ohio for fifteen years and enjoyed my time there so much that I now live in Nevada. You can get a shot of 151 here at 4:30 am any day of the week, it helps make the conversation with the legal prostitutes seem more interesting.

Maybe there was a city-wide mandate to not serve the Michiganders... =D

While I'm happy as hell, I am also humble in remembering the Flyers also snuck into the playoffs through a last-game shootout against the Rangers.
