McNabb Apologizes to Philly for Not Winning Super Bowl: "I look back -- the things that I set out that I wanted to accomplish and bring back to Philadelphia I wasn't able to, and I apologize more than anything to the people of Philadelphia, not bringing that Super Bowl to them." -- Donovan McNabb

That's all well and good Donovan. But last I heard, football was a TEAM game. I don't care who you are, you need at least several more players to execute well and often to get to the big game. It's not a matter of just a few people executing well every so often in order to win a Super Bowl.

And McNabb proves again how much classier he is than the fan base that treated him so well for so long.

Philly winning titles with ornery mofos like Bednarik - that's a better cultural and municipal fit than having Donovan trying to bring one home.

As an Eagles' fan, thank you Donovan. Yes, I screamed when they selected you, but you proved me wrong -- and that is a good thing. And for all the times these so-called "fans" threw you and Andy Reid under the bus, I hope the Redskins can get the tire tracks out of your back before the season started.

If the 'Skins beat us twice this season, and again in the playoffs, we deserve it.

I don't know how to take his statement. I appears on the surface to be well intended but then there is an arrogance that is implied when a single player can take the credit or the blame for something that requires a team and an organization to acheive TOGETHER. Donovan I'm sorry but you are not all that and should the Washington Redskins actually win a Super Bowl with you at the helm(not going to happen) just remember it won't be you alone who did it.

If McNabb earns a ring next season despite wearing burgundy and gold, I'd be willing to give him (and Mike Shanahan) most of the credit.

Talk is cheap, McNabb should back up his apology with cash. Donate money (say the value of a Super Bowl ring) for each year they lost in the conference finals to Philly-area kids sports programs or something.

Seriously, sentiment is nice but I'm tired of people who think saying sorry is worth more than an empty roll of toilet paper.
