Gregg Zaun throws 3 pitches in a row past the pitcher against the Pirates Tuesday night I think he was mocking the Pirates

A little vent to Phoenix for losing a few of us 3 points last night - in the front hallway of your organization, on that little side table next to the coat rack, there's a game that you forgot to even mail in last night.

And of course, some people's loss is some people's gain.

Just a reminder...look for a round 2 pickem thread in the locker room shortly after the conclusion of tonight's Caps/Habs game. Time will be short between rounds, so get your picks in pronto...

Lets go Habs. I would love to see their goalie(Halak) steal this series and send Ovechkin home. I know he is a face of the NHL, But I love seeing him lose.

As a face of the NHL, many are saying a loss tonight will damage his legacy and put him on the list of great players that cant win the big one. They blew it last year, Won pres trophy this year(which has been the kiss of death recently) and choked in the Olympics.

Paging Mackey Sasser's sports psychologist on line 1.

I am a Wings fan, but I feel really sorry for Shane Doan. Definitely was missed by the Coyotes, and it's a shame he had to miss the majority of the series as a result of what was basically a freak incident.

Go Caps. I think it is a bit early in Ovechkin's career to be giving him the can't-win-the-big-one mantle.

They did it to Manning and he was the best QB in the game. Do I think it is early for that? YES. Will the media? Probably not and their opinion matters more then mine.

Lets go Habs.

Because of the resultant matchups in the 2nd round (Bruins vs Philadelphia rather than Bruins vs Pittsburgh), I would love to root for Montreal. Living where I do, with the 'phone book nearly half full of French-Canadian surnames, it would be very easy to do. But as a Bruins fan I-just-can't-quite-bring-myself-to-do-it. I will not be rooting for the Capitols either, but I will be watching the game.

What a shocker -- Big Ben's not very popular with Pittsburgh bar staff or his ex-teammates.

Loved this comment on the Guardian's MBM coverage after Inter had put Barca out:

"That was a triumph for Mourinho's style of management," writes Henry Shawdon. "I cant wait to get that quality of shirt-pulling, injury-feigning, timewasting and transcendental negativity back in the Premiership."

Looks like the Blackhawks are out of contention for the cup this year. So sad.

Was talking about this with a friend on the way to a meeting. My math works out thusly: the Bruins are playing with house money at this point. I never expected them to make the playoffs, much less round 2. However: if I root for the Habs, they will win and then find a way to beat the Bruins and that will make me more upset than if they play the Penguins, lose as expected, but leave a Matt Cooke-sized stain on the ice.
