Jerry Jones Rips Bill Parcells in Bar Video: A drunken-sounding Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was caught on a cellphone video ripping Bill Parcells and dismissing the possibility of drafting Tim Tebow. When asked if he'd draft Tebow if he owned the Jacksonville Jaguars and needed to sell more tickets, Jones replied, "That's the only reason I brought in Bill Parcells. Bill's not worth a shit. I love him. ... So to get this fuckin' stadium, I need to bring his ass in."
I don't know...Because he's a rich fool?

The local media is downplaying this
Not just local media..on PTI Wilbon was talking about how it was a "non-story" and anybody who thought this was a real story was an idiot.
To me, the owner of a NFL team, obviously s**t-faced, bad-mouthing a former employee will ALWAYS be news :-) Not THAT big of a deal, but it's still news.
I didn't think the comments about Tebow were bad..he was just saying he wouldn't draft him because he wouldn't get on the field..this was right after talking about how good Romo was. I think he's just saying Tebow's not supplanting the guy he has right now, not that he thought Tebow was crappy.
Now the comments about Bill seemed to be more pointed.

As a Cowboys fan, I think it's newsworthy to hear Jerry Jones talk about the pressure he was under to get the new stadium built. Many fans think that he purposefully made Texas Stadium a worse experience as part of the stadium effort.
The Parcells hire was a major departure for Jones, whose previous hires had been Dave Campo, Chan Gailey and Barry Switzer. None of them had the juice to push him around or to challenge him in the media. Now that he has the stadium, it's no surprise he's going with another pushover like Wade Phillips.

Hey, clearly this is not news. How do I know? Because the Dallas Morning News has put out multiple columns saying it is not news.
Must not have been in the Dallas Cowboy press release.
As to what he said regarding bringing Parcells in to get the new stadium, this brings back the old conspiracy theory going around right before the stadium bond vote about how amazing it was that the Cowboys all of a sudden got so good right before the vote. Of course, after the vote, they hit the crapper again.

The Dallas media were taking the low road by saying they were taking the high road.
If it truly wasn't newsworthy then leave the story alone. Instead, they make it more of a story by trying to show how virtuous they were by not covering it. They get all the details out there, including the exact website one has to go to view the clip, all the while saying that they're not going to cover it. they get to show everyone what a lowlife Jones can be, while kissing his ass at the same time.

The local media is downplaying this, but what would you expect, most of them have the lips permanently attached to Jerry's backside.
He's a fool for saying things like that in public, he knows he's a target, so why give them ammunition?
