Jason Elam Retiring as a Bronco With One-Day Contract: Jason Elam's been banging in field goals for the Atlanta Falcons over the past two years (and fairly successfully -- he hit at a 94-percent clip in 2008 before slipping to 63 percent last year), but for the 15 seasons prior to that, Elam wore the colors of the Denver Broncos.
I know that some folks think less of Elam's 63 yarder in the thin air of Denver than Dempsey's kick in the sultry sea level New Orleans humidity, but that's just a footnote. Elam is a hell of a kicker and had a great career.
(Rouen had to handle a high snap on Elam's huge kick and Elam almost slipped and went down on the follow through. Despite all that, the kick was dead center with ample clearance.)
(Bonus: the kick made opposing coach Tom Coughlin trot out that stunned, exasperated little boy look of his.)

Any kicker who can make a 63 yard field goal deserves all the accolades, regardless of the location.

Very nice move. Had Elam on my fantasy teams numerous times, always did well!

I enjoy these kinds of classy sports stories.
I don't suspect to see Brent Favre reunited with Green Bay. Maybe he can hit up his original team . . .
