U.S. U-17 women beat Haiti 9-0, then offer hugs: As Haiti's coach helped the crying goalkeeper to her feet, U.S. goalie Bryane Heaberlin walked the length of the pitch, gave Coby a hug and didn't let go.

In athletics your opponent is never your enemy. The more honor you pay to him (her), the more you are honored. It was a nice gesture, and given the age of the young women involved, was not contrived. Rather, it was likely done from the pure emotion of the moment. Bravo Zulu* to both sides.

Nice to see such perspective from young people. I'm truly impressed.

A grand gesture by the women. Well done.

Sadly Hope Solo says that if she had been the goalie on the US team, they would have won and she would have hugged all of the Haitian players at once.
