The Saints' Super Bowl parade is today.

Most cities hold their parades around midday in the comfort and safety of daylight, and so people can take part during lunch time.

Leave it to New Orleans to start their parade at 5 pm. With darkness to fall soon thereafter. And the celebration continuing until lord knows what hour.

Or day.

Regarding Steve Phillips, ugh. I hate post-rehab public tours of contrition.

The wealthy are sex addicts, the poor just like to screw around.

But hey, he knew he had a problem and was looking into therapy before being caught even. I believe that, no problem.

So... where does that leave Derek Jeter? The guy was a man-whore before Minka Kelly entered his life.

IMO, it don't matter whether you're wealthy or not. If you're single, you can screw around as much as your heart desires.

This kid made some great plays against Missouri a few weeks ago, but this is just funny.

You don't bring a butter knife to a gun fight, so why shouldn't the owners get the best hired gun they can buy? The NFLPA has the same rights, so let the fun begin. You also have to consider that Charles Pierce has the same set of biases that his employer and its parent corporation often exhibit.

Absolutely, and I love him for it (putting my biases on the table), though his employer has changed its mind on some of what you're talking about, at least as far as its own employees are concerned. I'm pleased to see any sportswriter provide this kind of information instead of the default team-shill act we normally get.

I have a hard time siding with the owners in anything. The players are the reason I watch. It's true what Pierce says, though. Any shutdown invariably becomes a PR war and no one can sympathize with millionaire heroes. The NFL has already made the decision. They're locking out because they want to negotiate the new CBA in the pressure cooker of a lockout - it's distinctly to their advantage.
