Crash kills Leafs GM Brian Burke's son: Brendan Burke, 21, who broke homophobic barriers in hockey, dies in accident in Indiana. ESPN's John Buccigross weighs in with a moving history of the young man with We love you, this won't change a thing.
That kid was braver than I think even he knew. What a terrific example he set. Well done, Brendan. Well done.

What a sad turn of events. The story leading up to it, however, makes me proud to have been a part of the Miami University hockey family. It sounds like Enrico has filled that program with gentlemen of the highest caliber.

Damn. That's tragic in a lot of ways. Thanks for posting this, NoMich. I probably wouldn't have heard Burke's story otherwise.

CBC just had a nice segment on the HNIC pregame show. Good interview with Enrico Blasi from Oxford discussing what a courageous, talented young man he was. Class move by the CBC.
