The numbers from Hawaii are mostly Samoans, I presume. I wonder how Pago Pago would rate as place of birth/origin of football players compared to other towns cities of around 30,000 people.

North Dakota's also got 1, Ying Yang. And the only reason Iowa has over 100 is because we have two FBS schools.

There was a story on 60 minutes a few weeks back interviewing Samoan high school football players. It showed how they play on park fields and have terrible or nonexistent locker rooms and facilities. All that, then they went on to say that they are 56 times more likely to wind up on an NFL roster than their American high school counterparts.

I was surprised that Idaho posted better numbers than places like Arizona, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Maybe there's a lot of kids out there in potato country who are growing up dreaming of playing for Chris Petersen on the blue rug.
Can't be too many of them dreaming about crossing the border and playing in Pullman at this point.

Maine only has one person on a college roster. Wow.
Even Alaska has more.
