Sports + Twitter = Spitter: Some veterans of Rivals.com and Scout.com have launched Spitter, a microblogging service for sports fans. They bought the domain from a dentist who thought it might be useful for his business.
Emphasis on the beta. I really don't see the value proposition: a small coterie of sports nerds on Spitter or a hashtag and half the western world to talk to on Twitter during a game.

Yup. It's the dilemma of every site that wants to be another Twitter. But I could see a sports microblogging service being successful, if it offered a bunch of team-based information you could follow.

I agree. Not much utility to it yet.

Use Spitter while you can before Gaylord Perry finds out about it and gets an IP attorney to shut them down on a name identity infringement basis.
