Ron Artest: sounds off on drinking during games and fighting Ben Wallace anywhere, anytime. In a lengthy interview for the December 7 issue of Sporting News magazine, Artest, best known as the central figure in the infamous Malice at the Palace in 2004 bared all, including a startling admission that he drank alcohol during games as a member of the Chicago Bulls, for whom he played from 1999-2002. "I used to drink Hennessy at halftime," Artest says in the interview, which hits newsstands this week. "I (kept it) in my locker. I'd just walk to the liquor store (near the stadium) and get it."

He sounds like an alcoholic.

I wouldn't say that since alcoholics attend meeting.

I do dig the pic of him in his studio, kinda looks like my studio actually.

What? How does the description of something he did 7 years ago make him sound like an alcoholic now?

Artest is a different person today than he was during the brawl. I heard an interview with him this weekend on ESPN Radio. He's enjoying the game and interacts all the time with fans via Twitter and other means for goofy stuff like taking 50 of them bowling.

Wouldn't it have been smarter for him to open his diary after his career is over? I just don't see a reason to raise suspicion of yourself even if you have changed for the better. Also, this is the kind of stuff I like to read in athlete's biographies.

He sounds like an asshole. I don't think that can be helped.

I second what mjkredliner said.

Assholism, like alcoholism, is a disease. It can be treated. I think it takes more steps, though.

I think in Artest's case, his Assholism is terminal.

Assholism affects 4 out every 5 assholes (Did that sound right?). It's a rare disease and needs to be taken very seriously.
