Agassi: My Mullet Almost Fell Off at 1990 French Open: During the 1990 French Open finals, Andre Agassi's first trip to a Grand Slam final, the "Image is Everything" pitchman was paranoid about his hairweave mullet falling off during the match. "The evening before the match, I stood under the shower and felt my wig suddenly fall apart," he writes in his autobiography. "Probably I used the wrong hair rinse. ... During the warming-up training before play I prayed. Not for victory, but that my hairpiece would not fall off." Agassi lost the match to Andres Gomez -- the only Grand Slam title of the Ecuadorian's career.

I thought mullets just sort of happened over time as various people in the neighborhood who fancied themselves as budding stylists took a whack at your head o' hair.

I had no idea there was such a thing as an elective mullet.

I had no idea that Agassi had any sort of rug to begin with.

My mind is less burdened with factual effluence than I thought it was.

I am grateful.

Please tell me that there are no upper torso hair weaves on the men's tour.

Or the women's tour.

Speaking as a former member of the Mullet Club for Men, I can attest for the fact that mullets did not "just sort of" happen. You had to make them happen.

Speaking as a former member of the Mullet Club for Men,

I was a member too, brother. Try being a musician in the 80's and NOT having one. It was glorious and flowing and people bowed to it's might and authority. And it was ridiculous and I won't be sharing any pictures here. There are enough of them on the web anyway.

As for Agassi: Senator Vreenak, if you would do the honors.

My mom wouldn't let me grow a mullet, no matter how much I pitched a fit at the barber shop. I love my mother.

I think this is potentially more embarrassing than the crystal meth revelations.
