Ron Artest Reaches Out to Beer Thrower: Almost five years after "Malice at the Palace," Ron Artest reached out to long distance beer thrower John Green, the fan he charged into the stands to beat up during an Indiana Pacers-Detroit Pistons game. Artest got his number through friends on Twitter and called him at home. "It was like immediately we kinda vibed," said Artest.

I wonder if Jermaine O'Neal will be reaching out to that guy he laid out with the sliding right hand megapunch (at about 7:40 of this video).

I'm pretty sure Jermaine has a "No reaching-out" clause in his contract, lest he aggravate an injury and miss another 30-40 games.

I heard Stern wanted to institute a rule that all players that attack fans apologize at some point, but O'Neal said it was racist..

It is actually nice to see Ron Artest develop as a human being. I never did think that the Malice was all his fault. Wallace took exception to being fouled and then acted kinda douche-y. I loved it when Artest just laid down on the scorer's table as if he was above all the foolishness. Until getting splashed with a beer that is. I'll bet many of us would have come unhinged if something similar had happened to us.

You damn right...but for an entirely different reason. I would be more upset at the jackass that threw a (still pretty full) $9 cup of beer...fucking idiot.

Good for Artest. Although, when I first read the title of the post, I thought Artest was looking for the beer thrower to finish what he started.
