Two NFL Players Missing at Sea: Detroit Lions defensive end Corey Smith and Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper were on a 21-foot boat that disappeared on Saturday in waters off Clearwater, Florida. The men and two others are still missing. "Those are two guys I really respect and two guys who are just blue collar good guys," said former teammate Ryan Nece. "I'm just praying for them."
I think my area got hit today by the system that these players would've encountered last night on the water. It had some pretty strong gusts of wind and is still blowing eight hours later.

Nick Shuyler, former USF Bulls football player, was found in the water, clinging to the overturned boat.

Here are some photos of him right before the rescue.

40 miles out in a 21 foot boat? Makes me wonder how much boating knowledge they actually had.
Still a very sad situation to be in.

Why the article includes the height and weight of both Cooper and Smith, I'll never understand.
In an article I read, the Coast Guard mentioned the height and weight to make the case that these guys could last in the water much longer than ordinary folks.
Let's hope that's the case.

Not sure if they're alive or not but being lost at see is devastating.

I'll pray for them as well. I hope this story has a happy ending, which at this point, may not be the probable one.
Why the article includes the height and weight of both Cooper and Smith, I'll never understand. Seems a little cut-and-paste-from-wiki-ish, without editing that stuff out. It's not important here. I don't mind a little history, but the career stats should be the last thing on our minds now.
