Ravens, Cardinals, Eagles and Steelers Advance in NFL Playoffs: For the first time since 1971 (and the second time ever), three road teams won NFL playoff games in the same weekend. The visiting Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles join the surviving home team Pittsburgh Steelers and advance to the conference championships. The biggest surprise has to be the Cardinals, who seek their first NFL championship since 1947, a game that longtime owner Bill Bidwill worked as a ballboy.
You have to admit, our Eagles have been living a good lilfe recently. First, getting all the stars aligned to make the playoffs in the final weekend. Then two victories in games in which they really didn't look too hot. If they can get their acts together -- not dropping passes, clearing big holes for Westbrook -- we should not have a problem next Sunday.

I'll admit to now being on the Cardinals' bandwagon. Lord knows, it's not because of Bidwill's ownership. The franchise and the fans deserve this title shot but not the ownership.
There will not be any injury carts on hand at the stadium for the Cards-Eagles game. That's because the NFL has ordered that all available carts league-wide be sent to Pittsburgh for the Steelers-Ravens game.
It bears repeating: the Panthers have been doing things right in many areas, but they have not addressed their needs at quarterback in a dynamic way since they drafted Kerry Collins. They will continue to fall short as long as they continue to try to find ways to scrape by at the quarterback position.
Fox is a wizard for accomplishing as much as he has with the QB talent he's had to work with. Delhomme, like Grossman and Plummer, is a player who is capable of single-handedly losing a game and stinking out a stadium. The problem is, you never know when that's going to happen, because when Jake is on, you start to think he could really be your guy.
The difference between Jake's "on" games and "off" games is clinically diagnosable. Multiple personality disorder.
Glad to see that Asante Samuel finally found a way to hang on to one of Eli's passes. The key to the Giants' game winning drive in the SB last year wasn't the Tyree helmet catch or the Plaxico fade. It was the prior play when Asante had Eli's errant pass in his grasp for a sure pick and let the ball slide right on through his gloved hands. Game over if he hangs on to that ball. He stared at his gloves as though he had bought them from the wrong store.

There hasn't been a "bird on bird" Superbowl.
I'd love to see a Cards-Ravens game!

Timely defense and protecting the ball. This was a fundamentals coach's wet dream of a weekend.
