Holden, you gonna rock the DL pool again?

posted by YukonGold at 03:12 PM on March 31, 2008

Thanks for the correction. Upton came to mind because he's up with the big team now and I didn't want to put down someone who is at AAA at this point. It's borderline ridiculous how Upton is ten at-bats over the limit to be considered a rookie, while Fukudome plays nine seasons in Japan and is still viewed as a rookie.

I suppose we should rock the DL pool, dontchya think? I'll post something to the LR later today. And dyams -- totally agreed on the ridiculousness of the ROY eligibility, particularly as it applies to professionals from non-US leagues.

I like the way Monica thinks. My precious Jays look pretty good this year - but my sneaking suspicion is 'not good enough'. I'm not predicting anything this year. I feel no further enticement to proving how wrong I am again this year.

Given their performance last night, we're in for a carbon copy of 2007: great starting pitching, solid bullpen, breakout performances from the likes of Hill and Rios, with Wells and Thomas (and now Eckstein and Stewert) stinkin' up the joint. Eighty-eight wins in oh-eight! However, a Tigers-Jays LCS would make me very happy indeed. I would look up all my childhood friends from Windsor just to taunt them.

Eckstein has always annoyed me. As someone who only casually follows the Jays, I was hoping they could keep John McDonald in the starting lineup just because he's incredible with the glove.

The word is that Johnny Mac worked on his hitting in the off-season. He's not going to become the next Pujols, of course, but don't be too surprised if he pushes Eckstein by May.

Eckstein has always annoyed me. You and every other Yankee fan I know. All I've heard for the past two days is "Fuck you David Eckstein". And the poor little guy hasn't even gotten a hit yet. Seriously though, fuck you David Eckstein.
