From the Blogosphere: Is anyone else having issues with the way the "From the Blogosphere" box is displayed in threads in general and the Locker Rooom front page in particular? (IE6)
That's the issue I'm having.

Mine has the Blogospere box in it but it is blocking the text on that side of the page, as well

It seems to be down lower now on the front page and it actually shows Blogosphere instead of page not available. Even though it says Blogosphere in the lockerroom front page it is still up and blocking text.

Ironically I can barely make out sdm's complete post because of the blockage.

It's creating a horizontal scrollbar at resolutions under 1280 for me in Firefox on Mac. It was fine at 1600 in Firefox/ Windows. (not that the OS should matter for Firefox)

It adds an horizontal scrollbar in Safari too, and only part of the box is showing, once you've scrolled horizontally. Screenshot

I see the same thing as qbert? What is it? I didn't even know it was there until I saw this post. Who needs it? Why don't we get rid of it?

It's funny. In Firefox, the left side of the box lines up with the left side of the google ads box, like in Q's safari screenshot. In IE, the right side of the box lines up with the right side of the Google Ads box, causing the blogthis box to cover comment text.

What are you guys talking about? I don't see any such box on any SpoFi page, using Firefox 2.latest on OS X 10.4.10.

Are you running some sort of ad blocker extension, bill?
posted by NoMich at 03:55 PM on September 23, 2007
Well, now I don't see it anymore in Safari either, but the horizontal scrollbar is still showing...

No ad blocker. I get the horizontal scroll though.

I am using internet explorer 6.0 and I just get a part of a white box behind the google ads. It only does it in here and in a thread off of the front page, but not on the front page. Plus I still get the horizontal scroll bar. It does cover up some of the comments from spofites also.

I have the same white box as jojo, but no horizontal scroll bar. It's an annoyance, but no more. When it first happened, I also had the "site not available" warning there too, and for a day or so, my browser tried to take me to Dr. John Evans' site whenever I clicked the "back" button.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Using Firefox but I turned off the adblocker for Sportsfilter and I still see no random white boxes or any other blogoness.

I still have it - both home and at the office. XP and Windows 2000. INternet Explorer.

I put it online last week as an experiment to see whether it brought enough good sports headlines to be worth keeping around. I think the BlogRush server's been crashed for three days. Which kinda tells you, along with the usability problems here, how well the experiment turned out. We're granting the widget its unconditional release.

I have a weird box that shows the page is not available on the right side of my screen making it impossible to read any text that is on that side at the top of the page. It appears to be behind the ads by google section.
