Read post.: When did y'all tack on the "Read post" link at the end of a FPP? And what purpose does it serve? Just curious.

And, how it is on the inside page and not on the front page?

I think the text should be changed to "RTFL, idiot".

I added it this week for people who read SportsFilter through its RSS feed. If you come in by clicking an RSS headline someplace like My Yahoo, it isn't clear that you have to click the same headline to read the story. I wanted to see if it made a difference in participation here.

Okay, that makes sense. It can only help. Although the Read Link link is not showing up on my feed.

Read the link!?! pffff. I just come in here to shout my opinion over and over again, no one ever said there was reading.

I'd agree, but I don't read others' comments.

I don't see the "read the link" link in bloglines, rcade.

Mine says "Read Story" and I too thought I had done something wrong with my post leaving the admins to fix. Then I noticed it was in all the posts and only when you opened the thread and not on the front page.

Do you think we could style it so it doesn't seem so much like a part of the post? Like in this post, Ichiro has to read the story in order to step up. Maybe a smaller typeface size and put 'er in parentheses?

I moved it into the small print and added it to the Locker Room as well. I also added a "Read Story" link to the description in the RSS feed. Let me know what you think.

That looks a lot better. Especially in one of the short link FPPs like the one that Doc pointed out.

Ooh, yes, that's good stuff. Except that there's no Locker Room feed, is there?

Locker Room Feed. I need to add it back as the autodiscovery link.

For some reason it seems to pull the links up a little faster. Having them consistently come up in a separate browser window makes it easier to refer back to the link when making up one's diatribe.

Huzzah for continued SpoFi innovation.

This just in: TV on the Radio is a freaking awesome band. Serious diggage. Although, the multi-layering of the vocals is a touch much at times.

Meh, they're no Brooks & Dunn or Impaled Nazarene.

Oh, good. I thought I had done something wrong in my post today. (Actually, I'm still not convinced I haven't.) Just a reminder, perhaps, to the less literate and habitually link-following of us?
