SportsFilter Olympic Coverage: SportsFilter Olympic Coverage Where are we at with the Torino Games Coverage? It seems our Editor in Chief is MIA. I've written a few more columns and I was looking forward to reading the columns from the l_b_b and others. Is this project comatose, or not merely dead but sincerely dead? Just looking for some clarity before I invest further in this endevor. Are we still using the GameTime looker room for the opening ceremonies, it's only a few days away?

I've got all of the links ready for mine (bobsleigh), and am sitting down tonight and typing it up, Stars game be damned. Hopefully I'll submit it before crashing out this evening.

I'm still in for cross-country. Just too damn busy. And I am enjoying the "series" so far.

Not to make light of anything... but when I click on the above I see two marshmallows getting frisky. I didn't dare click on the video. If you need someone to pick up some slack on a column, let me know.

tselson - I'm going to be travelling during, well, all of the events I said I'd cover. I didn't think it would be too much of a problem, but having been in the middle east this week when I said I'd do a column from the Desert Classic (and having thus far failed to do so) I'm beginning to wonder if I'm deluded. I'm on ice dance and ski jumping detail - if you want to take one of those on, I'm happy to share (and let you pick). To be honest, all I have planned is to ruthlessly take the piss - but then, I think that was probably expected.

lbb's absence leaves us with nobody on alpine skiing, which is kind of important; so if anybody wants to pick that up we should probably have a backup. I don't want to get all personal or anything but I am worried that lbb has not made an appearance in more than two weeks. Anybody know what's up?

I believe she quit the board. Somebody linked to it earlier. I can't find it.

I suspect this might be it.

I suspect she just got frustrated and decided to take a break. I fear I may have been part of the problem at the time, but I do miss her.

My impression is that this nice episode had some weight in her decision too. FWIW, I tried reaching her via email a week ago and didn't get any answer.

Hopefully she's just taking a break. Several of us have emailed her. But the games must go on! (and columns too...)

My impression is that this nice episode had some weight in her decision too. Jesus Christ! This comment from BlogZilla is banhammer material. LBB and I have gone head-to-head many times, so it's not like I'm some buddy sticking up for her. That comment is WAYYYY over-the-top, vicious, sexist crap coming from a guy that had joined just over a week earlier. No wonder she left.

dusted, I agree with everything you said. I have already sent this particular comment to Pantheon via the contact form, since the policy is to not discuss etiquette in the Locker Room. I haven't received any answer, and I wonder if the contact form is working.

Yes, I have also complained about that comment ... a locker room thread I started this morning got deleted as soon as we started talking about it. dusted, I suggest you use the contact form also. More voices make a louder voice.

I just sent a message via the contact form.

I love how the internet makes people write comments they would never actually say. I think that we should amend the guidlines to suggest such. Simply: "We are a bunch of people sick of the screaming into the ether crap that exists seemingly everywhere else. Please try to imagine talking to someone face-to-face and write accordingly."

Me like. And yes, that is how I actually talk to other people.

Oh, and Olympic Hockey submission coming this weekend. I'm just trying to figure out a way where Weedy gives you MORE than what you'd get by reading the Hockey News.... Which I've read and will crib from mercilessly (but in amusing ways. I just want to amuse. And dance. Amuse and dance.... Professionally.) I believe referencing myself in the third person, as above, is a bold step in the right direction.

I dashed off a note to the pantheon via the contact form as well due to a very observant tselson comment in one of those threads. I was originally going to post it here but didn't want to stink up the locker room with dirty laundry.

Weedy, that should be on a plaque on the gates of the Internet.

Please try to imagine talking to someone face-to-face Is there a swearing limit? I tend to be ever so casually foul mouthed.

JJ, I apologize. I have been, well, still am, uugghh, sick. (all of my commas made me lightheaded) I'll take on ski jumping.

We still don't have anyone covering the Alpine Ski Racing events, certainly nobody as qualified as lbb. We missed the hearing about American Favorite Dan Ravhles declining practice runs today. (Confident fellow I'd say) and probably a ton of other Alpine news. So can someone step up?

I just got and published rainbaby's luge column. As far as llb, I emailed her to assure her the articles would be published in an acceptable time frame, and hoped she'd be back. But I never got a response. Make of that what you will. Regardless, I hope members still go ahead with their columns. If rainbaby's column is any indication, they're going to be very good. I'm actually looking forward to the luge now. And yep, the gametime category would be good for any live event.
