So we're using SpoFi to get our open job positions filled now?

posted by jerseygirl to navel gazing at 02:53 PM - 43 comments

Doesn't even have a point, besides being an obvious self link.

posted by jerseygirl at 02:54 PM on October 18, 2003

That post has been downsized.

You know, that sort of link might represent a revenue opportunity for SpoFi, if we work it right. Pay (handsomely) for the right to post a job here (in the sidebar in something that looks like a Google text ad or sum'tin). Anyway, I'm glad the link was removed. Good job, Pantheon!

Over-reaction! You're on a roll today, bill.

I try, JG, I try. Anything to avoid thinking about another LFC loss and tomorrow's 49ers/Bucs debacle to be.

Trust me, it helps to repress bad sports memories. I was actually a functioning human being today who didn't cry or choke up at all. Not once!

All that said, if you're listening fella, NESN's package needs a complete overhaul. Those enormous pillowy graphics should only be seen on ESPN Classic. And fire Bob Rogers. If you want someone to bash the Sox manager on a nightly basis, I'll do it without being such a panty-waist. And I'll hang up on those moron callers from Saugus or wherever whose lives are so empty they actually watch your post-game show. Honestly, if someone's watching that show, it's 'cause they can't commit suicide yet due to a work commitment.

taupe...where is our EPL and Yahoo updates?

posted by StarFucker at 11:05 AM on October 21, 2003

lilnemo does the Yahoo one, doesn't he? I think I didn't do too badly this week (except for yahoo. But I'm still within striking distance.)

I hope that Boa Morte scores lots of goals today. Otherwise, I'd rather he not play at all. I stand to gain four guaranteed points in the PremierLeague.com from Sun Ji Hai if Boa Morte doesn't play. C'mon ...

posted by worldcup2002 at 12:42 PM on October 21, 2003

Calm down, SF. The last game of the gameweek (Fulham-Newcastle) kicks off in an hour.

posted by taupe at 12:46 PM on October 21, 2003

I am calm... Doesn't Sun play for M. City? What does he have to do with today's game?

posted by StarFucker at 01:07 PM on October 21, 2003

Nothing, SF. Except that Sun is on my Premierleague.com roster, as my top substitute. If Boa Morte doesn't play today, and that means this week, (He didn't! He's not even on the bench today, that hamstring-injured sod! That's two matches worth of points I could've scored this week from him!) Sun will automatically "sub in" for Boa Morte, and I get the four fantasy points he's carrying. YAY! It's the small things in life ...

posted by worldcup2002 at 02:30 PM on October 21, 2003

Weird, i didn't even know about that particular rule.

posted by StarFucker at 02:47 PM on October 21, 2003

Auto-substitution, my man. Possession of that secret weapon has obviously done me a lot of good.

posted by worldcup2002 at 02:53 PM on October 21, 2003

I cannot comment here because I am crying for hours over a fucking 27 point weekend.

posted by billsaysthis at 04:00 PM on October 21, 2003

It's OK, bill. I dropped at least four places in yahoo this week. But I can take consolation from a good climb in the Premierleague.com table. I'm counting down the minutes until taupe posts his weekly masterpiece.

I hate Shearer.

posted by StarFucker at 04:21 PM on October 21, 2003

Why? Do you have Van Der Sar?

posted by worldcup2002 at 04:21 PM on October 21, 2003

No, because i keep saying he is too old to keep scoring so i never pick him up. Each week i say, "well..thats gotta be it. He won't score again for at least 2 months..." Dammit!

posted by StarFucker at 04:35 PM on October 21, 2003

I had the same thought. I will have to do the old Tinkerman routine shortly.

posted by worldcup2002 at 04:42 PM on October 21, 2003

Shearer's the man. He's also my captain :D
