Help me fill in the blanks, as there's a few team managers that I'm unsure of.

Ain't No Ice in Georgia would be my team for the record (and I'm not ashamed to admit it... yet).

can't believe I am losing to you trox after the draft you had. I mean I drafted Zhamnov and he lasted 3 games and did nothing. but when it comes down to it i didn't need to make any tweaks in my post-draft lineup. your draft included McCabe (injured), Housley (has no team) and Pavel Bure (a high profile injury that should've had him #1 on anybody's 'do not draft' list). so basically you had three slots to fill with your pickings being players rejected or passed over by me and qbert and whoever else was there at the live draft. and somehow you're hovering up in the top half of the pool even though you essentially drafted 3 players less than me. grrr! and, for what it is worth, you are still operating with a slimmed down roster. If you want to keep Bure then at least put him on the IR and pick up another player. sheeesh! how am i losing to you! which means my advice is probably not needed!) I thought I put together a good team! it's only a week into it. calm down. serenity now.

serenity now, insanity later. Heh, good episode.

I missed the live draft so yahoo made my picks for me. I don't know a heckuva lot about hockey, so thanks for the heads up on Bure. What's his long-term prognosis? I'm trying to decide if I put him on IR or just drop him outright.

concussion central is my sorry-ass team. Hey Bertuzzi, let's get going on that 100/100 season you should be having.

I hear ya gspm. My not-terrible team isn't performing. I didn't get to the draft until the 7th round and was left without a goalie. Potvin was the best I could muster. But that's not the problem. Hossa, Guerin, Lecavalier, and Rucchin have a combined 1 goal. Week one, though. Week one. On an unrelated note, Grum sucks! (requisite trash talking)

Thanks for the table, mkn! Trying to fill in the blanks about the participants... 2 people who claimed they signed up in the original thread: - Samsonov14 -> Sammy's Ice Holes? - filmgoerjuan -> Canuckleheads From the last Football thread: - catfish -> vagabonds? So we're missing identity on Hack The Bone! and Ferrets. My goalies suck. But I have 3 of them. So there... -

Sammy's Ice Holes is my team. I'm leading the league in +/-, which is only slightly less lame than leading in shot %. But 2nd place isn't bad. My team is completely overachieving right now though, and I'm waiting for a fall from grace. My goalies are pretty good. Lalime, Belfour, and Raycroft (who was initially undrafted and got a shut-out last night). My offense kind of sucks, but I don't think I'm ready to trade quite yet. I'm going to be so pissed if Grum wins again this year. That bastard. Oh, and MKN, that chart is really cool.

Who has Brodeur?

I do Billy.

I think 'hack the bone' might be jerseygirl, as that seems to be a Simpsons reference. My last couple of days have been attrocious. The majority of my players haven't had a game since the weekend; and those that did, were non factors. Hopefully, I'll jump today as pretty much my whole team is playing. Kind of annoying for me, as the teams and players I'm most familiar with tend to always play on the same days -- so I lose a lot of points by benching the wrong guy. arg. And sh% isn't lame. It means I have the snipers of the league! What's annoying with grum is that he isn't dominant in any one category, he's just very good in all of them. With my goaltending, I can never compete.

Jasonspaceman will be winning, so the rest of you might as well go home now and cry. In your beer. Although he might have blown it with that excess y at the end of my name. Is it okay to smacktalk even if I don't have a team?

posted by billsaysthis at 04:08 PM on October 16, 2003

we need to start a "called bill billy" club.

posted by gspm at 04:56 PM on October 16, 2003

We need to start a Billy Smacks Fools World Tour fund so I can have plane tickets to come around and hit you all upside the head.

posted by billsaysthis at 08:14 PM on October 16, 2003

Sorry Bill, that was unintentional with the 'y'. I left my draft up to the yahoo 'puter. My offense looks pretty weak so I doubt Brodeur is going to save me (no pun intended).

Brodeur will save you, Jason, if you'll just believe. Have faith in Him and He will lead you to the Promised Land.

Man, can I ever feel the love in here. How nasty is it going to be when you guys eat my dust for the next 6 months? (trash talk volley returned) To be honest, this is the only hockey pool I'm in this year where I'm not in dead last.

Thanks for making us all feel eversomuch better, Grum. Thank you sir, may I have another!

I'm now 14th out of 16. WHAT. THE. FUCK. PIGDOGS. I know it's the first week and all, but I'm still a little uncomfortable with Grum being so far ahead already... And where's my hard-earned spoils, Samsonov? Am I gonna have to call the Ill-Advised Hockey Bets Collection Agency?

posted by Succa at 01:58 PM on October 17, 2003

Dammit. Okay, okay, Nick. By the way, I'm ahead of Grum as of right now.

Don't let it get to your head. I was number one for all of one day, myself. Look for les colecos to rise today, as Kovalchuk made a killing against Chicago. Seriously, what the hell is up with Atlanta?

posted by mkn at 10:04 PM on October 18, 2003

What the hell is up with the season so far? Nashville is winning games, Atlanta has D, Giggy can't stop shit, vets are not producing or not playing, young dudes you're mama has never heard of are centering top lines...arg arg arg...something is amiss in hockeyworld, and roger rabbit ain't gonna solve this caper...hell, at this rate, the Yotes and Preds will be in the Cup final behind MVP TooToo.

posted by garfield at 09:23 AM on October 20, 2003

oh yeah, and I think my D has more points than my forwards. Whoopeee!!!! I think I'll be changing my name to 'brain-bashed basement-dwellers.'
