A laughing stock no more: A few years ago when the Pirates set the record for most losing seasons in a row among the 4 "major" sports I took the opportunity to rant on this page. Last year when the streak hit 20 I did again. After 20 years of memories of Sid Bream beating Bonds throw from left I would like to thank the Pirates for giving me something to cheer about again. The Pirates finished the year 94-68. I number no one would have guessed at the start of the season. Players from the minors moved up and made an impact(Cole last night among others). The team made moved at the deadline to add offense not dump salary. They were run like a real franchise this year. Most importantly they made a city care again. PNC Park packed and rocking is amazing. After 20 years of frustration we finally have a winner. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and we wont have to wait another 20. This team has a solid young core and some real good pitching. As long as ownership doesnt trade it all away Pirate baseball is back!

Next year the streak will be old enough to buy a drink.: EPIC FAIL. The Pirates just finished up their 20th losing season in a row after being 16 games over .500 earlier in the year. I first posted this 3 years ago when they set the record and will every year until the streak ends. The franchise is a JOKE not just in Pittsburgh but around the league, Ownership is a JOKE, The plan to turn this team into "Baseballs Hells Angels" is a JOKE. After 20 years of sucking, there is no end in sight. O by the way, the team made $20 million this year and had a top 3 attendance in history. SO Much RAGE

Get your pencils out..: On average, 30-40 fans are kicked out of every NFL game. Starting this year, any fan kicked out of a game will be banned from the stadium until they pay for a 4 hour online course on anger mgt and pass a test. May be some empties in my section this year.

The Kid is back: Understand that it will take a little time. Sidney Crosby hadn't played in a game in nearly 11 months until Monday night, so it's inevitable that he'll need a little time to scrape the rust off his game. In his return, he shook that rust off with a 2 goal/ 4 pt night in 16 min of ice time.

Choking Again??: The unbeatable team finally due to win their cup after years of playoff collapse are at it again. The team with more skill has been badly out player by the team with more heart. With Luongo playing poorly and Hamhuis out, do they have what it takes to bounce back as the series heads back to Canada.

The Heart Of Football Beats In Aliquippa: Over five decades of economic decline and racial conflict, a Western Pennsylvania mill town has found unity and hope on the football field.
I have grown up 10 min down the road frm aliquippa and most of my family is still in the Italian section of Quip. Living there is a fight everyday for survival in a world of drugs and guns, but still somehow, this tiny town has produces so many NFL greats. Law, Dorsett, Ditka, Revis, Gilbert and more on the way...
Max Talbot: 'Ovechkin is a douche': So much for political correctness. Max Talbot thinks Ovechkin Is a douch This was a interview on a Pittsburgh radio station. Max tells his true feelings.

Pittsburgh Pirates Set Record for Futility: While September is often a time for one final push in baseball, the Pittsburgh Pirates made their push in another direction, becoming the first team in the top four U.S. pro sports to have 17 straight losing seasons.

Five Reasons to Watch the World Series: So it's not Manny being Manny and shots of Ben Affleck sitting in the stands. It is still going to be a great series for all the right reasons.

Steeler announcing great dies at 79: He was Pittsburgh's Harry Carry. You loved or hated him. Very rarely did he make sense but more times then not, you found youself turning down the TV and turning up the radio to hear Cope announce the game. He was a legend in Pittsburgh and he will not soon be forgotten. If you never heard him, you missed a great one. Pop open an Iron City at Cope's Cabana and drink to one of the greats.
