ESPN's Top Ten All Time Golf Shots

Pavin's four wood from 218 in a hurricane deserved to be rated higher.

Favre Asks For Release

Please go away Brett. You've been retiring for half a decade. I'm tired of reading about it. Get out of the newspaper, talk radio, ESPN and my computer. You're getting to be a bigger annoyance the Michael Jackson.

The Ten Best Individual Sports Rivalries

Although not there personally I saw all three Ali Frazier fights. They were classics. No problem with them being listed number one. But that fact that Bo versus Woody is not in the top ten is unbelievable. Being a Michigan fan and in attendance at the Big House during Bo versus Woody it's apparent that Men's Vogue knows nothing of football.

More Bad Noose for Pro Golf

Tilhgman's choice of wording was marginal. Golfweek's choice of a cover is infuriating. Yet's see now. Taxes up. Gas prices up. Discretionary income down. One magazine subscription must go. That would be Golfweek.

Patriots are perfect 16-0

I saw Miami go undefeated. I saw New England go undefeated. Great accomplishments but only one team didn't cheat and film their opponents. One team deserves and asterisk the other stays flawless.

Strange Days

A fun list to read but the real story was how far off the experts were in establishing the pre-season national rankings. The initial picks were a disaster. I thinking several "experts" at rating college football teams is looking for a place to hide.

56*?

There were friendly score keepers in Joe DiMaggio's time. No, say it ain't so Joe. It's nice to know that the friendly score keepers of fifty years ago still exist today. An asterik? You've go to be kidding.

Lions Stun Bears With Record 4th Quarter

Da Bears changed quarterbacks. Maybe they should change their defense.

Lions Stun Bears With Record 4th Quarter

50+ years as a Lions fan? Really? If you know about Commander Cody you're fairly old but 50+ years as a Lions fan. Prove it. What was the name of the stadium 50 years ago and who was Yale Lary?

Tubby Fills A Gopher Hole...

I loved the comment "Kentucky is to basketball what Alabama is to football". You are so correct. Both are former powerhouses who have fallen to mediocrity.

"Moral Bracketology"

Best moment in sports. Colts Win Super Bowl? Why? If a live one more day or fifty more years I will never hear some talking head say Payton Manning and Tony Dungy can't win the big game. Worst moment in sports. A tough one but two come to mind. I'm old enough to remember when TV cut aware from an NFL game to telecast the movie Heidi. Also, I actually saw Chris Berman from ESPN at a golf Pro/Am. He had a horrible golf swing and even worse the golf attire he had on made him look like a physical wreck. He has a huge gut and no butt. Now that is a real visual nightmare. This is a man who should never play golf when there is a chance that it will be televised. My top four seeds. Can't think of anyone real deserving at this point. Maybe UCLA. The rest will depend on how teams do in their conference tournament.

Brett Favre Coming Back For 17th Season

NFL Hall of Fame class of 2007 includes Michael Irvin, Thurman Thomas

This has to be the bottom of the barrel for the NFL. First, they threatened with a lawsuit a Baptist Church in Indianapolis if they have a Super Bowl party and show the game on a TV screen bigger that fifty-five inches. Second, they have a crack head elected into their Hall of Fame. This weekend has to be a PR nightmare for anyone affiliated with the NFL.

Ted Johnson's on the Injured List Years After Retirement

Ted Johnson has something wrong with his brain and he knows when it started. So do I. A cumulative 1.25 GPA while in college. Now he is out of football and has no marketable skills.

Legend, legacies at stake

Always Manning, Manning Manning. Today's game is not about Manning. It's about a Super Bowl appearance for the Colts of Indianapolis. Indianapolis has had a football team since 1984 and they have no championships, no rings, no nothing. For the most part their legacy to date is at best mediocre for twenty two years. This is a defining day for the Colts of Indianapolis as an entire team and not Manning, Manning, Manning. A win today puts the Colts of Indianapolis into the Super Bowl and puts a stop to all the talk about the only Colts Super Bowl win was in Baltimore. Winning the Super Bowl will put the Indianapolis Colts on the map of football history and bury for all times the Baltimore Colts.

One Toke Over The Line, Ron Mexico...

As I understand it Vick had the chance to toss the bottle away. Actually he did toss it . He just missed the wastebasket. This is typical of Mr. Vick, another incomplete pass. Maybe he should have tried to outrun the TSA's rather than going for the long pass down the middle.

Colts kick past Ravens

COLTS WIN One high profile running back after another goes no where and all that everyone in the media talks about is Peyton Manning and the interceptions. Two weeks ago the local media was calling for the head of the defensive coordinator. Today these same local media are ranting on about the Dungy defense. Hell, a former Tampa Bay player named "Booger" got more press than the defensive coordinator. Here is today's trivia question. Named the Colts defensive coordinator who put outstanding back to back game plans together and got no recognition. What's the prize. We don't have no stinking prizes.

Colts advance, thanks to... their D?

It continues to amaze me that people are critical of Manning. He completed 79% of his passes again Kansas City. If Manning gets ripped again for not winning a Super Bowl in his relatively few years in the league I can't image what kind of hell Dan Marino went through. On a new subject, the NFL Rookie of the Year. It went to a quarterback with a 68% efficiency rating. It should have gone to Joseph Addai. He was in the top ten rushing with far fewer rushes than anybody in the top ten. Apparently you now need to be a happy footed, lousy armed quarterback to be recognized for any of the post season awards.

Michael Vick Passes the Buck

Vick thinks he's Superman minus the cape. Ya! Right. He's the Bobby Douglas of this football generation. Like Dougles, he can throw a football at the side of a barn and hit it but it would be way over on the edge.

2007 NFL Draft.

The Heisman Trophy winner is the eight rated quarterback in the draft? It's now obvisous that a so-so quarterback on an outstanding team can easily out distance the competition during the Heisman Trophy voting.

Another Opinion on the BCS

With the USC loss the BCS now becomes a nightmare. Who plays OSU? Arguments are plenty but here is the reality. The game is secondary. What is important now is the controversy about who plays OSU. Talking heads on TV and the unrecognizeable faces but a voices on radio will be in their full glory. It will be talk, talk, talk ad nauseam for seven weeks. By the time the game actually arrives I'll be so tired of the hype that I may just throw up my hands and forget about it.
