Strange Days: A look back at the 2007 college football season, one of the wildest seasons in history.

A fun list to read but the real story was how far off the experts were in establishing the pre-season national rankings. The initial picks were a disaster. I thinking several "experts" at rating college football teams is looking for a place to hide.

Preseason rankings are a major part of the problem so many people have at the end of each year...particularly those who aren't fans of Buckeyes, Sooners, Trojans, etc. A preseason Top 25 team can lose twice and not lose their ranking (theoretically, of course); while a team that is actually significantly better can win their games and just hope someone notices before it's too late. They shouldn't exist. It smacks of a fix.

Interesting and fun to read. I agree with newbie. I hate preseason rankings. Fubars everything. And, speaking of Michigan and WVU from the article, looks like both are ready for new coaches.

Every school's football program has it's humiliating losses down through the years. Due to the cicumstances involved I think that West Virginia's loss to Pittsburgh is the one that I'll remember. It's alreday had an impact far beyond Morgantown.

Nice list, but can't be complete until it lists the most memorable days of the season- like the three weekends where #1 and #2 lost.
