Hapless U. of T. loses 48th in a row: It's a program that has won 4 Grey Cup championships, two Vanier Cup titles, 25 Yates Cup crowns and is steeped in tradition over its 130 year existence. But now, the University of Toronto Blues own one of the most dubious of Canadian univeristy football records.

Toronto's last victory was a come-from-behind 13-11 decision over the Windsor Lancers during the 2001 season that halted an 18-game losing streak. So that's a total of 1-66 in their last 67 games. How many fans are on that bandwagon?

/IGNORANCE ALERT How does a University team win the Grey Cup? I was under the impression that was only for CFL teams. Please advise.

How does a University team win the Grey Cup? I was under the impression that was only for CFL teams. Please advise. Much like the Stanley Cup, the Grey Cup predates the league that now award them as championship trophies. The Grey Cup was donated in 1909 by the then Governor General of Canada (Earl Grey) to recognize the top amatuer rugby football team in Canada. In 1954, amateur teams stopped competing for the Grey Cup, as it became property of the Canadian Football League at that time. On the other hand, the U of T ultimate team, Torontula, is playing for a second consecutive national championship as we speak.
