It's sad that the principal at his school has such doubts about how he helped Griffin. This seems to be a common theme - young athlete self-destructs and the people who helped them along the way have doubts about the wisdom of having done so. I doubt that the principal preventing Griffin from graduating (and thereby experiencing more serious consequences) would have saved him. When Griffin's actions finally did have serious consequences, that didn't seem to matter to him either. Very sad.

The description of Griffin as a "former" NBA player in today's news stories seems a bit odd. A 25-year-old with his physical skills and size would've had plenty of chances to get back in the league.
