CBC has a Heidi moment for CFL fans: It was the CBC's version of the Heidi Game, though The Good Thief Game doesn't have quite the same ring.

I live in Saskatoon and it drives us crazy as well. The reasoning is that it a lot of people drive down to the games from Saskatoon and there is a point to that. The highway from Saskatoon to Regina on gameday is crazy but like others, I am not sure if that justifies a lousy blackout all of the time.

Is there actually ANY proof at all that blacking games out actually increases ticket sales?

All I can say is thank goodness that the CBC's time broadcasting the CFL is coming to a close! You can have your Hockey Night in Canada, but leave the "real" Canadian game to qualified sports broadcasters. I think TSN is doing a great job with it. I think what compounds this additionally is that it was like 2am in EST (EDT?) when the game resumed, yeah? I'd add to the disgrace that is the CFL on CBC by noting that the last time Edmonton was in Saskatchewan, I was in Saskatoon. The blackout apparently extends throughout the whole goddamned province!?!? If the Esks are in Calgary, I can see that game on TV in Edmonton. What's the deal with blacking out games from Regina in Saskatoon? Makes no sense to me???
