This commentary by Portis illustrates my point on the other thread about the NFL and the Bengals.

Clinton Portis is a MORON. Personally, I'd like to see these big bad athletes fight each other to the death, wouldn't that be fun? Mr. Portis, there are rules you have to follow in life and in your sport, so do us a favor and STFU!

Another deep-thinking, intelligent product from "The U." My feeling is "U" need to keep your mouth shut, Clinton, because "U"re an idiot! Hey, it's his property! Let him gut small children and have wolves fight over the carcass. Mind your own business!

Clinton Portis is a MORON. I've never seen any evidence of this. Whatever he might say about Vick, his press conferences seem to be the product of someone smart enough to be bored with press conferences.

Clinton Portis is a MORON. I've never seen any evidence of this. I don't know. When I first read the "moron" post, I thought it was a bit harsh. But, although I can't get anything out of the FPP link because of it being blocked at work, going purely on ole's description, this particular statement seems to be the posterchild for moronic.

Michael Vick is a role model, and therein lies the problem. Kids look up to professional athletes, and like it or not, they're held to just a little higher standard than ordinary Joes who are not in the media spotlight. These guys need to be above reproach, and for the money that they're being paid, that's not too much to ask. Would I want my child to be as talented as Michael Vick? Sure. Would I want him to act like Michael Vick? For the most part, nope. Put the dogs up, Mike.
