Myark Cubyan Slyams Dwyane Wyade: Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban does his part to pimp the Heat-Mavs rivalry, calling out Dwyane Wade for a recent shot he took at Dirk Nowitzki. "You are an amazing player Dwayne," blogs Cuban, misspelling Dwyane's name repeatedly. "I love watching you shoot free throws. ... Now we know why Charles won't put you in his 5."

You know, I'd be happy to have Cuban buy my Penguins to keep them in Pittsburgh. But dude is a bit of a head case--and could use some grammar lessons.

You gotta love Cuban, always good for a rant. I'm a bit surprised by the shot Wade took at Dirk. . . Missing two clutch free throws at the end of game 6 last year wasn't really "stepping up." Maybe he should be more grateful for his teammates.

If it weren't for Cuban, I wouldn't follow the NBA at all.

You are an amazing player Dwayne. I love watching you shoot free throws. What you know about Dirk's leadership skills is non existent. You don't have a clue. Your ability to evaluate leadership skills....well you obviously have an overinflated value of your own. Did you take business classes at Marquette ? You are an amazing businessman, Marc. I love watching you flaunt bad 80s hair styles courtside. What you know about grammar is non-existent. You don't have a clue. Your ability to evaluate your own writing ... well, you obviously have an overinflated sense of your skills. Did you take any English classes at either the University of Pittsburgh of Indiana University?

This isn't Mark's finest moment, but it's February. He's not in playoff taunting form. How do you make fun of the Heat without noting that the Mavs lead the league with 41 wins, the Heat have 24, and they wouldn't even make the playoffs in the West with that record?

During the game between Dallas and Houston last night,Avery Johnson, Mavs coach, showed a little class when asked about Wade's comment. He refused to address the issue directly but reminisced when he was a Rocket and a rival player clamed Houston would never win a title with Johnson on the team. We have seen how that Rocket team did.

I am surprised Wade took this shot at Dirk, but he is NOT really lying all that much. The Mavs are a fabulous team, but as far as I'm concerned Dirk isn't and will never be an MVP candidate. Dallas is deep, and Josh Howard and J Terry make for a great backcourt. Until Dirk learns how to defend, especially inside, he shouldn't be considerred for MVP. All teams that win championships play great defense. What was the last team that couldn't play defense that won the championship???

Until Dirk learns how to defend, especially inside, he shouldn't be considerred for MVP. Tell that to Steve Nash. What was the last team that couldn't play defense that won the championship? The Heat were an average defense last year, except for leading the league in forced turnovers.

I like Cuban and what he's done for the NBA. I like that he puts him money where his mouth is, and did something for the team he loves. Of course, he had the money to do it also, unlike some of us who like the C's. Hey, it is nearing playoff time, and he put his jab in when Wade opened up. Although I don't think Nowitzki will ever be MVP, he appears this year to gel much better with his team, and it has been more team effort. Go Mavs! Even though I'm a jealous Celtic fan that wishes they could remember what a "W" looks like!!

When Cuban bought the Mavs in 2000, the franchise was among the most hopeless in pro sports. As I recall, they had the losingest record of any U.S. pro franchise in the big four sports in the '90s, and free agents dreaded the thought of coming to Dallas. I'll never understand why David Stern doesn't see the value of having him as an owner in the league.

I'm guessing that if the Mavs players would have given the Heat some credit for beating them that Dwade wouldn't have shot off about Dirk's leadership skills. I don't have a problem with Mark returning fire now that Wade's piped up though. Except it did sound like he was a little hot when he wrote it. Don't write angry.

Wade took a shot at LeBron and he fired back by beating the Heat handily with his teammates, I wonder what Dwyane said after that game about the king.

I'll never understand why David Stern doesn't see the value of having him as an owner in the league. I think it's an agree-to-disagree deal. They both know news sells, and it wouldn't be as much news if Stern didn't say anything. /tinfoil

Until Dirk learns how to defend, especially inside, he shouldn't be considerred for MVP. All teams that win championships play great defense. Stuff like this occassionally bothers me. Have you actually been watching the Mavs at all this year? Not only does this team play great defense (as do the Suns - who rank in the top ten in defensive efficiency), but Dirk is playing GREAT defense this year. It's really quite remarkable. He used to play no defense - now he does as well as anyone playing his position - especially on the ball. His reputation as a poor defender was warranted a few years ago - but it just doesn't apply any more. Tell that to Steve Nash. Here's another big misconception. While I feel Nash is probably one of the worst on the ball defenders as a point guard - he is equally one of the best as a help and off the ball defender. He takes a charge in the blocks as well as any 1 guard in the league. And unlike 90% of the guards out there - he'll actually go down there among the trees. Dirk and Nash are two of the best stories in the NBA again this year. Close friends and huge rivals who have stepped up there game when it appeared that their ceilings had already been broken through and rebuilt a few times over. There aren't any better clutch performers, competitors or smarter players. Kobe's played well, but when it comes down to it - I can only see 2 MVPs in the running.

You bash Cuban for grammatical mistakes while you make one of your own. A typo is hardly a grammatical mistake -- nor anywhere near the equal of the repeated grammatical or spelling errors posted by Mark in his rant, but point taken. However, I posted mine as a quick one-off and made a mistake in typing (and then didn't have the ability to fix it). Mark posted his to his own blog, which he could certainly have someone else read and which he could edit of his own accord. What's his excuse? I'm rich, so I don't have to be accurate?

I'm rich, so I don't have to be accurate? Funny, but I'm buying that. I also hope he's egregiously stoned all the time, too. Why? Because it gives me hope.

I'm rich, so I don't have to be accurate? I'm guessing your commentary on his writing and grammar skills won't bother him one bit. Just a hunch. Also, I love your spin on your typo.

Also, I love your spin on your typo. I was hoping that word would come up. It, in fact, was a flat-out fuck-up. Still, I don't think a slipped finger can be compared with slipshod work. I also hope he's egregiously stoned all the time, too. Well, that would explain the haircut. Maybe his dealer works at SuperCuts.
