Dream start for new Hammers boss.: EPL relegation strugglers West Ham welcomed new boss Alan Curbishley with a surprise 1-0 win over leaders Manchester United, in his first game in charge. An early Christmas gift to the new manager and new owners ... and defending champions Chelsea, who had their own narrow escape today, and now see Manchester's lead cut from five to two. Is this the turning point for West Ham's season?

Amazing how poor the finishing was from ManU, wide, narrow, over the bar. But Green was man of the match for my money, no doubt.

It looked like West Ham wasn't giving them any time on the ball, so passes and shots had to be spot on or taken from further out. You know you've had a good game when Rooney is fouling your players.

West Ham and Pardew: where did the sentiment go? The sacked Hammers boss was a victim of managerial bloodlust, but the show must go on and Alan Curbishley is the man to replace him

Is this the turning point for West Ham's season? Probably not, as they have a long, hard road ahead of them, but it was a very exciting win. West Ham will struggle to stay out of the relegation zone all season, but I'm hopeful they can build on this. Was a little disheartened by Tevez's unnecessary trashing of Pardew earlier this week, maybe he deserved maybe not, but it wasn't very classy.
