In U.S. Women go wild for hunting.: An increasing number of women are heading into the woods, becoming one of the most enthusiastic segments of the hunting world.

When I was a kid my grandfather (my moms father) was the great shooter of the family. Every year he got his deer and then hunted all over North America for Moose, Elk, Bear, Antelope, etc. Yet in the family trophy room in the basement den/rec-room of their home, it was always my grandmother who had the most mounted heads. He was a world class shooter on the rifle range (I've never seen better), but in the field she was much better. Bravo ladies!

Mounted heads make me shudder. I do like taking walks in the woods though.

don't like the head's, go for a rug, or better do a full body mount. I hunt, went out this morning and shot a banded goose. I take my nieces, they have both taken deer by the age of 10, and I will be taking my daughter as well. It is not a redneck sport, it is the primary reason that wildlife is in as good of shape as it is. Only good things can come from women hunting. NRA, RMEF, DU, TTH

In a bizarre ironic twist I must admit that I hunt women.

Seems the dumb-sexist-joke-making cavemen live in the suburbs these days. I live in a rural area with lots of hunters, and while women and girls are probably in the minority of hunters, they're certainly not regarded as an oddity.

Seems the dumb-sexist-joke-making cavemen live in the suburbs these days. And on GEICO commercials.

I thought the cavemen of the GEICO commercials were suave, urban sophisticates.

Sure, when the camera is on ... otherwise, they are dumb, sexist, and make jokes.

Sure, when the camera is on ... otherwise, they are dumb, sexist, and make jokes. As a suave, urban, sophisticated caveman, I object to that stereotype.
