funny (or not so funny)... I live in Houston and this was the first I'd heard of it.

I wish they still had golden goals.

I live in Houston and this was the first I'd heard of it. It made the front page of the Sports section of the Dallas Morning News. Granted, it was played here(ish). The Chronicle actually has a very nice arcticle that you can read here. I mean, hell, they've got one more championship than the Astros now.

And the Texans/Oilers, however you want to divvy up the American football local history. Next year they can match the Rockets' local record. Not that (as you all know) I watched or will watch next year.

If you want to get into Houston sports championships, the Comets have it hands down. But, billsaysthis, IIRC you were a Clash/Quakes fan, no? Was watching Ching nail that goal in the 2nd OT good/bad or both? I know you all felt like you got ripped with the move, but can you take some bit of joy in this at all?

Good thing the City noticed.

Of course the Mayor noticed! He's getting ready to gorge himself on 10 Boston Cream pies!!

Watch? Why would I watch, Ufez? I root for Ching when he wears the national colors and would love to see him get more playing time when Klinsmann takes over but that's about it. I didn't watch a single MLS match this season except when the All-Stars took on Chelsea. Sorry about missing the AFL titles, Tommy, but I'm not that old.

That's gotta be so bittersweet for the old Earthquake fans. I don't much care for seeing games decided by PK's, but it was a gem of a game.
